recipe for a classic Reuben sandwich

Here is a recipe for a classic Reuben sandwich:

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices rye bread

  • 2 tablespoons thousand island dressing

  • 1/4 pound thinly sliced corned beef

  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut, drained

  • 2 slices swiss cheese

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Spread one side of each slice of bread with the thousand island dressing.

  2. On one slice of bread, layer the corned beef, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese. Top with the other slice of bread.

  3. Spread the butter on the outside of each slice of bread.

  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. Slice the sandwich in half and serve hot. Enjoy!
